RULES
Age Requirement.
You and your character must be an adult (18+) to apply to and join The Crystal Moon. Under no circumstances will we accept anyone under that age. If a member is found to be a minor, they will be removed from the guild roster and discord immediately. Additionally, we prohibit our members from interacting with minors under any circumstance. Communication.
Members are expected to voice themselves and approach other members when an issue arises. Contacting an officer should be done when members cannot solve a situation on their own or when someone is conducting themselves in a predatory or dangerous manner. Officers, if contacted, will involve themselves to solve the situation. Lore - Abiding.
Your characters should be as close to lore accurate as possible. We seldom allow use of grey area, world building, or headcanon, when used guild-wide it must be approved by the officers. No member is allowed to ignore established lore in place for headcanon. Refusal to adhere to lore may result in guild removal. Immersion.
We ask that limited OOC discussion happens around roleplay, as we do not foster a community which plans out outcomes, we consider that metagame. This also extends to D20 events, please do not OOCly call out mechanics or riddle answers. Leave IC to IC. IC=/=OOC
This guild absolutely does not support any blending of IC and OOC. Characters should never be an insert for their writers and writers should never use their characters as a host for their own emotions. We consider this a basic skill of roleplay and we will quickly remove members who struggle with this boundary, as we consider it crucial to a healthy environment.
Behavior.
We're all adults here and thus we expect those who join to behave like adults. We have zero tolerance for high school bullying or rumor mongering. No community is immune to problematic people nor is it immune to the drama that comes with those people; but rest assured, those people will be removed from this community. Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. Representation.
We ask that while you wear our guild tag, you conduct yourself in a manner which reflects positively on the Crystal Moon. If you choose to go to locations like Goldshire to PVP, please ensure your OOC is on, we do not allow IC visits to Goldshire. Literacy.
Members are expected to have average to above average literacy skills. Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. There are many sources, from google documents to addons which can assist you with this. Mistakes are bound to happen, but consistent errors are likely to result in a rejected application. Consequences.
Our roleplay is considered dark due to themes of realism and war. Many characters will be bloodthirsty and we promote in-house fighting ICly. If your character getting hurt upsets you, this likely isnt the community for you. The only time we ask OOC discussion happens prior, is before attempting permanent damage or character death. PVP.
When participating in PVP or RP/PVP we ask that you always prioritize fellow roleplayers and not disrupting them! Try to avoid participating in PVP in active roleplay spots. Additionally, follow rules that are set down between ourselves and our enemy guilds, these will be found in discord.

OUR MISSION
The Crystal Moon is an order located in Forest Song, Ashenvale. Forest Song is a settlement controlled by the Hand of Argus and Silverwing Sentinels. Since the village's creation, its inhabitants have witnessed the suffering of Kalimdor, specifically Ashenvale. Despite rumors of peace they've not experienced an end to their skirmishes. The birth of Amirdrassil initially left a taste of ire in the mouths of many elves, a sense of abandonment after the War of Thorns. Yet, it was when word of the Horde being allowed within Amirdrassil circulated that the ireful elves felt spited and betrayed - Likewise, the Draenei. To know that only several territories away their leader has welcomed in their butchers of millennia as "penitents" on Bloodmyst Isle. It is clear to many they have been abandoned by their deceived leaders. Left vulnerable to their enemies under fragile promises. Not all who dwell amongst Forest Song or the respective racial factions feel this rage, but those who did, those who do, have come together beneath the banner of the Crystal Moon. If their leaders cannot be trusted, then it is up to them to secure and reclaim settlements in Kalimdor; the inevitable betrayal will come and in the wake of chaos, these children of dimming stars and dilapidated planets will be prepared.
This guild was created to reignite and interact with the previous tone and writing style of World of Warcraft. We believe the narrative took a very unrealistic and unappealing turn approximately around Battle for Azeroth. We, like our characters, feel a bit abandoned by the narrative. As a community we're invested in returning to a more adult themed atmosphere regarding war, violence, and realistic consequences. We're heavily invested with interacting with established and forgotten lore, unlikely to delve into much headcanon or world building. Due to these goals and inspirations, we've set a rather high bar for entry, just so we do not lose the integrity of our mission.
EVENTS
Events can be expected 3-5 times a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. We host and attend a large variety of events because we understand not everyone enjoys the same thing. We have a system where attending events of any type will reward you with currency called "moonstone". This currency serves as rank progression and can be used in an NPC ran shop to purchase d20 and general roleplay items. Outside of events, we provide ambient hooks for those who want a reason to participate in city or hub roleplay. You can expect the following type of events:- D20 Campaigns: Every 2-3 months we'll host a several week long campaign which will require use of our D20 system. These campaigns will include a balance of immersive storytelling and fun dice rolling! Our system is homebrewed, created by seasoned dungeon masters.- Puzzle Events: These are events where riddles and puzzles are used as the main tool for driving the story. We often include these events in campaigns or host them as one-offs. These events usually require members to activate brain power!- Cultural Events: The races which we allow are very culturally expressive. While not every celebration is marked in lore, we often use context clues to create festivals and celebrations of these vibrant races. These events may be guild exclusive or be hosted as a server event, depends on the host!- Server Events: We choose delicately what server events to join and which to avoid as due to our IC views and bloodthirst, we understand some characters may realistically be disruptive. We want to keep true to our narrative while being respectful of our fellow community. That said, we will attend server events.
RP-PVP
OPT IN and never required! RP-PVP is a completely optional experience that members can choose to avoid or participate in as they wish. We, as a guild, prioritize roleplay over game play elements. A number of us are from Emerald Dream, and so we've incorporated RP/PVP into our immersion and enjoyment, but we understand many do not share that sentiment. We do our best to include RP/PVP without being disruptive towards our members or the community at large! Those which do choose to opt-in, please note we are strict with being non-toxic and non-disruptive. You can view our RP/PVP rules in the discord channels accessible by opting in.
D20 SYSTEM
The Crystal Moon's D20 system is homebrewed, crafted by experienced Dungeon Masters, that prioritize customization, immersion, and overall uniqueness in combat. RECRUITMENT PROCESS
STEP I. Click the button above to access the application form. You do not need to sign in. Answer the questions best to your abilities and ensure you give us a valid method to contact you. If you are not contacted within 72hrs, please contact [batmard] or [hippogryphrider] on discord. STEP II. You will be contacted by a recruitment officer within 1-3 days of submitting your application. You will then schedule with them a short text-based interview where they will go over your application. They will then ask you some questions regarding either yourself or your character, answer to your best ability. STEP III. If your application and OOC interview go well you will then be contacted, typically within the same day, by someone to set up your IC interview. During your IC interview your character will be questioned and given tasks to prove themselves or their skills. STEP IV. After your IC interview, the officers will ICly deliberate if your character is a good fit for The Crystal Moon. The deliberation often lasts several hours to a day. Whether your character is accepted or rejected, you will receive an IC letter in discord with instructions.
